    Sony handycam dcr-sr42

I have a sony handycam, modelname DCR-SR42. The device works fine. However, I had received a CD along with the kit through which I used to communicate with my computer for copying all the recordings in my computer harddisk. Now the problem is, the memory is full in my handycam and unfortunately I have lost the original disk. So, i am unable to transfer the data to computer harddisk. I need to save all the recordings in my harddisk and empty the space in my handycam's memory. How can i do that ?

    Any suggestions ........

Try downloading drivers from the sony's site. Usually, the drivers comes with the Windows XP operating system.

    For downloading videos,
    - Connect the handycam and computer using 4 pin firewire cable.
    - Switch on the handycam.
    - Open Windows Movie Maker
    - Import the videos from the device.

Note - Do not use USB cable, instead use Firmwire cable...

After connecting the camcorder to the computer, press the "burn to disc" button on the docking station. I am not sure if this works out, but you can try atleast...
