    Moxi HD DVR Media Center

Moxi HD DVR is gonna make HDTV owners not to pay a monthly fee to get high-definition DVR capabilities. It is a media center featuring a superior user interface with a two-tuner HDTV DVR unit. Moxi makes it easy for users to seamlessly record television programming to an internal hard drive so they can watch what they want, where they want. The Moxi Menu makes it simple to find what you’re looking for and fun to find new things.

The 500 GB hard drive allows you to record up to 75 hours of HD or 300 hours of SD programming. Something similar happens when browsing network shares as well. The system always asks you to confirm that you actually want to step back rather than performing the action requested by the user. More on network sharing further down.Moxi has won two consecutive Emmy Awards for its user interface (2004) and for its media center feature set (2005). Based on this recognition Moxi's software has set a new standard for usability in its category.

With Moxi, you will be able to playback MPEG-2, H.264-encoded MPEG-4, and WMV files on the Moxi HD DVR. It has broadband connection and digital cable subscription which allow users to enjoy programing from your cable provider, the Internet, or your PC. Moxi also has powerful BCM7400 video processor, CableCard and a dual threaded 350-MHz MIPS32 with a floating point unit, which is powerful enough to AVC(H.264/MPEG-4 Part 10), MPEG-2, MPEG-4 Part 2, DivX, and VC-1 video decoding. in addition Moxi integrates with Finetune for music, and will scan your iTunes collection to find music on that service that matches your tastes.

Moxi truly delivers with must-have services such as Digital Video Recording, On Demand and High Definition. Moxi SuperTicker brings you weather, sports and news at the touch of a button. Moxi costs $800

Moxi opens the door to a new range of entertainment options such as DVD, Jukebox, Games, and Photos, all accessible from the intuitive Moxi Menu. The DVR has a powerful Broadcom chip at the core, which is what provides all the pretty eye candy. Plus, the DVR outputs up to 1080p via HDMI and Dolby Digital over both Toslink and Digital Coax connections. The rear panel USB jacks and eSATA also allow users expansion of the DVR’s storage.Users have the choice of selecting a single series, where the box will display the number of episodes available. The Moxi HD DVR will display a consistent interface, whether the content be video, Internet content, photos, or music.

With Moxi, cable enters a new world of convenience, control, and enthusiasm in home entertainment.

it sounds great. This is a very soft launch of a very limited number of units and the $800 price is about right.
