Buffalo Japan introduced its newest BRC-P258U2 External Portable Blu-ray Combo Drive. The Blu-Ray drive can write on all DVD media however can access BD media for read-only purpose.

Able to write to all DVD formats besides reading BD media, this Buffalo drive promises to be a compromise for those who don’t require the additional BD writing capabilities, yet hanker for HD content. The BRC-P258U2 boasts a writing speed of DVD±R @ 8x, DVD±R DL/±RW @ 4x, CD-R @ 16x, and CD-RW @ 10x, while a reading speed of DVD-RAM @ 5x. As for BD/DVD playback, it’ll bundled with a “PowerDVD 8″ software which compatible with Windows XP or Vista operating system.The size 141 x 23 x 155m.

BRC-P258U2 will available in this month at $235.
