    Taser Axon Head Mounter Camera

It looks like police will have a new weapon in combating crime, a head mounted video system called the Taser Axon. The Taser Axon is a head-mounted video recording system that is recommended for the cops to use. So, they will always have the solid evidence to prove themselves, when there are civilian’s words against them. The Taser Axon is to be worn by an officer’s on the head, to record both the audio and video footages of what the officer sees. The recorded footage will be very useful to be used to prove one person’s testimony in a trial.

The AXON (which stands for Autonomous eXtended on-Officer Network) is a small, lightweight headset that fits into an officer's ear and aims wherever he or she looks. Besides recording up to 10.5 hours of video, it can serve as an earpiece for police radios.

There is no further information about the device memory size, or whether it supports memory cards or not. The device should be lightweight that doesn’t add too much burden to the officer’s head and movement. Many past cases have accused cops of beating the culprits, with the recorded footages, cops can be proven that they’ve carried out the right duties.

The Taser Axon will be able to record exactly what is going on in a situation, exactly as the police officer sees it, which could stop a lot of the fake claims made against police and also provide vital evidence for use in court.

It will allow the police to wear a small camera on their head to record both video and audio of what the office see’s throughout their day. The Taser Axon is head mounted and wraps around the back of the head like some headphones do. There are not too many details other then what we mention here at the moment but should these cameras make it to the police force it could help prosecutions go better rather then getting a his word against my word type scenario.

Taser will start testing the AXON this year, and hopes to begin selling it in 2009. Tuttle is expecting to encounter some resistance in marketing the device to police officers.

The Audax system is now available in the US. Implementing Audax's headcams in the UK resulted in the following statistical results: 40% reduction in complaints against police - specifically for incivility and excessive use of force 8% reduction in violent crime 85% increase in the number of violent crimes resulting in an arrest Frankly, I don't understand why every police force in the US isn't wearing one.

Unfortunately there aren’t too many technical specifications about the Tazer Axon just yet, and no word on pricing either.

In not too many years, every person, every car will be loaded with cameras like a high-security building of today. Likely won't ever call witnesses at trails, just play videos.
