Samsung Haptic 8Mega pix SCH-W740 is Called "Face Tagging", the feature allows you to call or text someone by clicking on a photo, snapped by the Haptic 8M’s 8Mp camera. It works with almost any type of shot, even if your friend’s been snapped in a group picture, matching the snap against one you've already assigned to a contact.

Facial tagging is nothing new – Samsung’s 9Mp ST10 camera already sports a similar feature, allowing it to recognise the same individual within a number of pics. The Haptic 8M’s camera also supports autofocus, business card recognition and smile snapping, with images displayed on a 3.3in touch-sensitive screen.

Given the phone’s name, we’d assume that the virtual keyboard is set-up for haptic feedback. An external memory card slot is built in too, and the phone includes Bluetooth.Although there’s no mention of Wi-Fi support, the Haptic 8M does support HSUPA 3G speeds of up to 5.7Mb/s. Music playback hasn’t been mentioned, but Samsung said the phone can receive TV broadcasts.

The initial version won’t support US 3G frequencies, though Samsung hasn’t said whether or not the phone will be available elsewhere.
