Error E18 on Canon IXUS II

    Hi,

my IXUS II worked perfectly until two days ago gave me the errror E18 and not back the lens zoom. the lens does not focus well and the camera can not focus / blur the objective. So the drums will get stuck and the camera is unusable. When trying on, unable to approach the target, you hear three beeps and the screen only shows "E18".

    Hi,

Canon's instructions (by phone) are to 'remove the batteries, rotate the on button and hold for 5 seconds, and then replace the battery'

    Hi,

Error E18 is not a manufacturing error. It is simply the code that indicates that the lens has been blocked.
Other manufacturers have different codes or do not show any direct information and stop working.

The error occurs usually when on occasion, turn on the camera without removing the lens cap, and made an extra servo.

Unfortunately I know only the most expensive, which is to send the camera to service.

To avoid the problem in the future, I recommend buying the adapter ring (LAH-DC20 Conversion Lens Adapter)
