    Screen Appearance:

The screen looks great. The high resolution gives good impression that a lot more space to work with, which is good. The angles for viewing are very acceptable, and the screen does not blurr out when checked from even long angles. A widescreen is also good, as you are able to look at many open windows at similar times. Colors are bright, and pictures and video both appear with good clearity. To add more, this notebook has an Ambient Light Sensor (ALS). This will help you to adjusts the screen brightness to the atmosphere brightness, so in a bright room, the screen will be bright, and in a darker room, the screen will automatically get dim as it reaches optimal brightness. you will have features extremely useful because it means have to adjust the screen's brightness manually. You can just adjust the range of ALS brightness and you never have to think about it again as this feature helps you to extends battery life.

    Sound Response:

The sound is provided by two speakers in the front of the laptop, and it is some of the clarity sound that you will ever hear which comes from laptop speakers. DVD audio comes across more clear and sufficiently audible to hear in the neighbouting room. It has volume limititation, and playing classical music has a wide range of volume which is not recommended, but the sound quality is best, and there is a in built audio mixing console which helps you to adjust the different frequencies and add effects in a particular sound.

    Keyboard:

The keyboard touch feels great. The keys are very silent, and provides you adequate bounce.

    Touchpad Report:

The touchpad works good overall. It is a sensitive one, you have to get used to typing and click on something have to be alerted. The 2 buttons work good for clicking. The scrollbar is also useful.

    Battery Life:

The battery stays 2.25 hours playing a media. Working on basic applications (word processing, surfing the internet, etc.), it will last between 3.5 and 4 hours. Appoximately 6.5 hours that Asus claims is the ceiling, but still not enough to easily get through my 3.5 hour long class. If you're going to be on a long schedule or need more than 4 hours of battery life, I would suggest getting the modular battery option that will swap for the optical drive.

    Heat & Fan Noise:

The laptop works wonderful most of the time. According to Mobile Meter, the CPU has a temperature range of 37-66 degrees Celsius, average 40 degrees Celsius on battery and 58 degrees on AC power. And the only situarion it gets noticeably warm is on the bottom at the back. It's uncomfortably not as hot even after over 6 hours of usage.

The laptop consists of 2 fans: the chipset fan and the CPU fan. The chipset fan is on every time, but virtually soundless. Initially powered up, you will literally not hear any noise. The CPU fan comes on when the CPU gets to 55 degrees Celsius and is really audible, but stays fairly quiet most of the time. The only time it speeds up is when doing heavy gaming and during very CPU intensive applications, like running Super Pi.
