Black screen on DELL Inspiron laptop

Hello, here is my problem:
When I use my portable battery mode and I go surfing on the Internet, after 5 minutes, my screen goes black and the only way to turn back to the screen for the laptop to sleep, then the reopen. It is not the backlight, since I can still adjust the light intensity when the screen is black.
But when I plug the laptop on the sector, I was never a problem.
Otherwise it may come?

My PC: DELL Inspiron MX061
3D card: Intel 945 Express (integrated) - drivers: 6.14.10.4926

You're on Vista or XP? Under XP you doing right click on the desktop, then Properties, then Screen Saver tab and then Power Management and you put it to Never. On Vista, it should be similar, may be in the config panel.

On battery, the passage of time in standby should be much shorter to save energy.

Hi,

Follow these steps :
1. Open up the display assembly
2. Unplug cables from the inverter board
3. Apply contact cleaner on both connections(if you have it)
4. Plug cables back and test the laptop
If you still experience the same problem with the screen and it turns black, try replacing the inverter.
