    Dell Inspiron 1525 restarts itself

    Hello friends,

I have Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista Home Premium. Whenever I plug my laptop in to charge and close the lid it restarts itself. There is no problem when it's not charging.

    Thanks You.

Go into MSConfig and then click on the startup tab, then disable all by unchecking the box. Then reboot the laptop. If it restarts again when you plug it then its an operating system issue. Go back into MSConfig and only enable the programs that you feel you need to run when windows boots up.

Go into the bios setting and change the boot order to boot from CDROM first then put in your CD and repair.

If that does not work remove all removable hardware, (graphics card, usb devices, etc.) if it get further in the boot sequence replace the hardware 1 by 1 until you find which is causing the restart.

Reformat it using the dell recovery disks. That is the easiest thing to do but you will lose all the data you have.
Put in the recovery disk and run the diagnostics.

Download & install the latest BIOS update and Video driver update.
