Nokia N96 works very Slow

I am using Nokia N96 16GB in that i have used bout 14gb of music & my firmware isn't updated to the up-to date firmware. It is extremely slow & has 10-15 second delay when pushing buttons. i have used up about 14gb of music & my firmware isn't updated to the up-to date firmware. I cannot access my media such as images or music.

Can anyone tell me whats the problem ?

While updating the phone won't erase the mass media, so your 14GB of data is safe in any event.

Go into menu > tools > connectivity > usb

Make sure that "USB connection mode" is set to "PC Suite" or that "Ask on connection" is set to "yes" so that you can make that selection when you connect the phone to your computer.

Try and perform the backup then. If you're still not able to connect the phone to the computer and use OVI Suite then disconnect it again and do a "restore factory default settings". This won't erase any data, only settings such as your active theme, profile, ringtone etc. Enter *#7780# from standby and provide your security code when prompted (the default is 12345).

Teo firmware updates have been released for the N96, first V11.018 available (Over the air) and the second V11.101. It may not yet be available for your product code if you have a network branded handset, and you will have to speak to your network about that.
