    ViewSonic ViePC VPC100 all-in-one PC

ViewSonic, who are well known for their monitor and displays, are set to release one of the thinnest and most affordable all-in-one PC solutions with the up and coming 1.6GHz Atom powered ViewSonic ViePC VPC100 All In One PC which comes with an 18.5” 1366 x 768 LCD display and integrated Wi-Fi.

Aimed specifically at those looking for a compact PC solution, the ViewSonic ViePC VPC100 offers up just about all you’d expect from an all-in-one PC on and above the previously mentioned 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi connectivity including integrated Gigabit Ethernet network adapter, a 3-in-1 memory card reader, built-in stereo speakers (offering an admittedly meagre 2W output apiece), a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 60GB HDD and DVD +/- RW optical drive though we do feel that the 1GB RAM is somewhat laudable.

One for the casual users (and hardly for the gamers amongst you) the ViewSonic ViePC VPC100 is undoubtedly aimed at those looking for a rudimentary PC for net access/browsing, emailing, VoiP calling, etc whilst wishing to avoid placing standard PCs in their rooms and, whilst the ViePC VPC100 will certainly find an audience, we’d personally favour an Asus Eee Top (with the lower end Eee Tops, incidentally, coming in at around the same price point).

The ViewSonic ViePC VPC100 All-In-One PC is scheduled to commence shipping as of February and will purportedly retail at around $550.

It has a 18.5" display and is only 35mm thin (1.37"), which might be thin and light enough to hang it on a wall, but we don't think that this is an option right now.
