    Visa Unveils an Application for Android

    For some time now, the publisher of Visa looks at mobile payment market and with this in mind, announced several initiatives for research on contactless payment. This time, the American company unveiled an application for the Android platform formalized with the release of G1 in the United States a few weeks ago.

    The application allows the user to receive alerts in real-time traffic from their bank accounts but also to be notified promotional offers from some sellers with the ability to view these offers geographically through the GPS module. Directly from the phone, it will be possible to locate distributors currency.

    In terms of security, the application could also be very useful if, for example, the user against his credit card. However, some wonder about the license user: "Unfortunately, no data transmission via a mobile phone can not be guaranteed 100% secure."

    Elizabeth Buse, the department direct products Visa says: "By developing these services for the mobile platform Android, Visa has made a huge step towards its goal of combining two of the major innovations for the general public: electronic payment and mobile technologies" .

    For now, Visa Mobile is available to some users of the Chase Visa card with the G1.
