Difference between External Hard Drive and Storage Server ?

Hello, There are several types of storage options: "External Hard Drive" and "Storage Server".
What is the difference if we want Ethernet connection ? and what is NAS ?

By definition disc directly connected to the network and accessible from any computer connected to the network is a SIN.

NAS Network Attached Storage - Network Attached Storage. No need to feature exotic (web server or other) to a network drive can be regarded as NAS.
