Suggest a Zoom Lens

Hi....

I currently use a D40 with Kit lens....

I need to get a new zoom lens....

Please suggest a lens 55-200 or 70-300 that can autofocus in D40 and abt 10K in price....

What do you guys say abt Sigma or Tamron??

A recommended store in Calcutta or Bombay would be great...

I believe they have their set-up in Mumbai. You should get the Tamron 70-300mm in your price range. Check out the reviews too. Also, I doubt it will have VR so shooting at 300mm will probably require a tripod.

well if you are ready buy from gray market go to MM photography or khidirpur...
sigma lenses are good ... NIkon 70-300 AF-s is a slow lens difficult to focus in low light condition... especially at 300 you definitely need a tripod... better go for 55-200 that will fit with your pocket

i wud vote for dis as i have used it . it's crisp n a delight 2 use. Go fr Nikkor rather than Tamron or Sigma

if you want quality glass then take the nikon 55-200........ otherwise take the tamron 70-300............

The Nikon AF-S 70-300 VR is more expensive, but it's a fantastic lens.
