Want to access files on thumb drive instantly

I have some applications installed on my thumb drive and I want to access them from the thumb drive instantly rather than going into the folder and accessing the .exe file. I know that creating a shortcut and putting it on the root of the drive will solve my problem and it works fine but this operation fails when I plug it into another computer. This happens because the drive letter changes on the second computer.

Is there any other solution to make a relative shortcut which will always work no matter what the drive letter is?

Windows does not support relative paths in shortcuts. You will have to follow those steps for each computer.

Create a batch file by opening a new text document and typing in it the path for the executable file in quotes without the drive letter and colon (e.g. “\FolderName\FileName.exe”). Save it on the root of the drive and exit. Now you can use this file as a shortcut for your .exe file.
