A new line of media players has appeared on the site of New Zealand Sony is in any case what the site found Sony Insider. So Sony have unveiled the series NWZ-E430. There are three versions of this, 2, 4 and 8 GB, these stereos have the distinction of being very thin (8.5 mm to 6.5 mm against the iPod Nano last generation) and very light (a weight of 50 grams identical to that of the iPod Nano). They include a 2-inch screen, an FM tuner and can play music in MP3, WMA, AAC or WAVE as well as video. There is talk of autonomy for 29 hours to use music and 4 hours for video use. Lastly, these stereos do not require proprietary software to transfer music. Sony has therefore definitively buried its software SonicStage and the ATRAC3 audio format, which have long endured criticism.
The 2 GB model (NWZ-E435) is available in pink or black, 4 GB (NWZ-E436) in pink, red, blue and black, 8 GB finally (NWZ-E438) in black only. The site Sony Insider speaks with availability in the world next month but no price has yet been unveiled. Nevertheless, it is expected to cost close to the models currently in the catalogue, Sony NWZ-A815 (2 GB) today trading around 80 euros.
