EVGA GTX 680 SC Signature 2 or EVGA GTX 670 FTW

I have just built a new computer for gaming at my home. I haven’t yet purchased a graphic card as I was confused which among EVGA GTX 680 SC Signature 2 and EVGA GTX 670 FTW should I buy. I want my computer to run upcoming heavy games like GTA V and Crysis 3 at maximum setting possible. So which among these mentioned graphic cards will be best for use?

GTA V and Crysis 3 are not out in market yet. So no one can tell you right now if they will work on EVGA GTX 680 SC Signature 2 or EVGA GTX 670 FTW and in which manner. I agree that both the games are high end but they will need to have high end hardware to get maximum output. But right now I suggest that you get a kind of hardware that can help you to run the existing games at highest graphical settings. You can try a hardware that can give you full output in Sleeping Dogs. But if ever I need to choose a graphic card among the two that you have mentioned here, I would go for EVGA GTX 670 FTW.

Both EVGA GTX 680 SC Signature 2 and EVGA GTX 670 FTW are high end graphic cards. They are usually used by the companies who need to get high graphic memory to generate 3D art. For example, 3D movie makers, interior designers and game developers. They will run the games like GTA V and Crysis 3 at maximum settings, but let me tell you that they are very costly. Both the graphic cards will cost you more than $500. I’d say that instead of these expensive graphic cards, you can go for cheaper graphic cards like GeForce 560 Ti. They will easily run high end games and will also save your money.

As we know that EVGA GTX 680 SC Signature 2 and EVGA GTX 670 FTW are high end graphic card and they are costly, the money spending won’t just stop after you purchase any of this graphic card. The amount of heat they generate is very high. So you will also need to buy extra cooling devices like cooling fans and heat sinks. I have tested these graphic cards in my office and let me tell you that if roper airflow and cooling is not provided, it can create havoc in your system. So see to it that you can afford good cooling devices along with these graphic cards.

If I have to choose from EVGA GTX 680 SC Signature 2 and EVGA GTX 670 FTW, then I’d go with the 670 FTW graphic card. It is ideal for home use and especially if you need it for gaming. The major drawback 680 SC Signature 2 faces is that of the cooling fans. This graphic card is meant for professional use and it has extra large fans. These fans when rotate create a huge amount of humming sound. If you are ready to bear it then you can use it. The level of graphics provided by both the graphic card will be same. That is why, I suggest you to go with GTX 670 FTW.
