    HTML4 vs. HTML5

Before starting with HTML 4 VS HTML 5, first we should know about HTML.HTML that stands for Hypertext mark up language, is basically used for presenting content on the Web. Its a mark up language that is utilized to make planned documents on web. There are many versions available of this language whereas HTML5 is under construction as it is going to be the latest version of the same. A number of significant features will be added in this new standard and some obsolete ones will be wiped out. Its been said that there will be no need of any third party plug-ins like adobe flash player to play videos. There are In-built tags already built-in for such functionalities.

    Re: HTML4 vs. HTML5

What is HTML 5? First as the name suggests, is the successor to HTML 4. In addition, HTML 5 is the combination of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. All these technologies can create rich, interactive applications without necessarily needing the support of technology such as Flash, Flex or Silverlight. All the new functions added in HTML 5 are helpful for embedding video files, audio files, graphics, data storage and documents directly to web. Many of the branded companies put it into practice like Apple iPad . It is compatible with HTML5 and does not support Adobe Flash. That is the cause why developers are further paying attention in this and are learning about all the new tags.

    Re: HTML4 vs. HTML5

Obviously, HTML5 is the better option than HTML4, with all new features and tags inbuilt. For example, here i present some new tags implemented by the HTML 5:
    • Canvas: This tag is used to represent a web page elements from 3D vector graphics (SVG), JavaScript and Flash. (Ex: labyrinth , drawing )
    • Section: This tag is used to define the different sections of a document such as (eg chapters, headers, up-to-page ...) It allows to better structure the body of a document. Please do not confuse with tags HEADER, FOOTER NAV.
    • Article: This tag is an external content like a blog, a question on a forum or a newspaper article.
    • aside: This tag is for content indirectly related to the article itself, it can make divisions in an article format as an extract or quotation.
    • Figure: This tag is used to group pictures, videos. For example, it is used to merge an image and its caption.
    • Audio: This tag is used to broadcast audio on its website. (Eg audio player )
    • Video: This tag is used to distribute video content on its website (eg video player )
    • embed: This tag inserts an external application such as Flash, Silverlight and Quicktime ...
    • Mark: This tag is used to highlight text (color: neon yellow).
    • meter: This tag is not well defined. It is used to define units of measure and values.
    • Progress: This tag is not well defined. It is used to define the loading progress.
    • time: This tag is used to define a date and / or time in an HTML document.
    • command: This tag is not yet well defined specification and demonstration.
    • Details: This tag is used to generate pop-ups.
