    Ubuntu Linux is a free; open-source operating system based the Debian GNU/Linux sharing. Still, many people do not favor to use it for the reason that the number of applications that are existing for Ubuntu Linux, as compared with Windows and Mac.     I love the BitlBee IM for linux. It is another brilliant instant messaging IRC client. It’s a great solution for public who have an IRC client organization all the time and don’t want to run an extra MSN/AIM/whatever client. BitlBee at present supports the following IM networks/protocols: XMPP/Jabber (including Google Talk), MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, AIM and ICQ.

    I like Pidgin (formerly named Gaim) that is a multi-platform instant messaging client, support on a library named libpurple for ubuntu..
