Which editor do you use to write a code?

    Hi
Editors are the base to write/edit a text. It is cool to get an idea of which editors / IDE's our members are using. Vote for the most frequently used once. If any other editors besides these you can post them. Vote and have fun!

    Adobe Dreamweaver
Adobe Dreamweaver (formerly Macromedia Dreamweaver) is a web development application originally created by Macromedia, and is now developed by Adobe Systems, which acquired Macromedia in 2005. Dreamweaver is available for both Mac and Windows operating systems. Recent versions have incorporated support for web technologies such as CSS, JavaScript, and various server-side scripting languages and frameworks including ASP, ColdFusion, and PHP.

    Eclipse
Eclipse is a multi-language software development environment comprising an IDE and a plug-in system to extend it. It is written primarily in Java and can be used to develop applications in Java and, by means of the various plug-ins, in other languages as well, including C, C++, COBOL, Python, Perl, PHP, and others. The IDE is often called Eclipse ADT for Ada, Eclipse CDT for C, Eclipse JDT for Java and Eclipse PDT for PHP. The initial codebase originated from VisualAge. In its default form it is meant for Java developers, consisting of the Java Development Tools (JDT). Users can extend its capabilities by installing plug-ins written for the Eclipse software framework, such as development toolkits for other programming languages, and can write and contribute their own plug-in modules.

Re: Which editor do you use to write a code?

I am a computer science student so basically i have worked on many different types of Text editors, the basic one being the Notepad, Notepad ++, Word, Wordpad, the Vi/ Vim editor of Linux, Visual J#, JCreator, Netbeans along with others. but the best one according to me would be the Notepad ++. It is simple and easy to use. Eclipse is another good editor which can be used to write and edit many different language codes. It actually depends on which language code you are writing. Many editors support few specific languages. like when you are writing java code in JCreator, it will automatically show java syntax errors while we are writing the java code. This is because all the java syntax and other related informations are pre-installed in the JCreator editor.
