    it depends on your cabinet,fans
my pc have 5 fans ,for proper air circulation u need to have ur cabinet closed also !!!!
ur computer emits radiation so it is better to close ur cabinet

Opening up the cabinet in almost all cases does reduce the chassis temperature. However it's not recommended you do that, especially in dusty environments where dust will settle on heatsinks and fans, leading to suboptimal functioning of heat dissipation equipment like heatsinks and fans, in the long run.

I had to run a C2D processor in an old-style tower cabinet in which the SMPS is mounted right above the processor, which led to high temperatures in the cabinet. I removed the side panel of the cabinet and after a month I started having dust related issues.

Investing in a better cabinet with optimally placed fans (with filters in my case) is a much better option than opening up the cabinet.

I'm not too sure about this point, but I've heard that running a computer with an open cabinet can lead to grouding issues. Although I personally never encountered such problems.

Well, it maybe because one of my friend told me that due to heating problem he always used to keep his cabinet case open from one side.

No i don't think so opening a cabinet will affect the temperature of a processor it fully depends on CPU fan.

Maybe, not sure !!! But it might be dangerous to keep it open and there is possibility of dust to enter.

It may help you to some extent but NEVER think that it will solve your problem completely. It is better to use fans.

I think opening cabinet helps to keep PC cooler. If not much atleast to some extent. The heated air circulation is given open way that helps accumulation of heated air inside cabinet thus keeping PC cool. This is very useful for cabinets have only 1 fan.
