    AMD FX-9590 Overclocking

I am using an AMD FX-9590 CPU from quite sometime and was wondering about overclocking it. This is the first time that I will be overclocking any processor. I usually stay with the default settings that is enough to play games on my pc. In any case, I just want to ask the people who have this CPU about how many have it overclocked and how far did you all push it too? If anyone can give me suitable suggestions it will be most helpful. Thanks

You will require extreme cooling for your AMD FX-9590 CPU or otherwise there will be no room for overclocking. You should have overclocked the old model CPU for the first time and then only began with the new ones. Anyways, you can try to disable the turbo and then try to get all cores close to 5Ghz even though this raise will be small and not a high percentage of overclock. There are many people who have overclocked their 8320/8350 because still there are very less users of 9590 cpu.

Well, the Amd FX-9590 CPU is just another factory overclocked FX-8350. Also, overclocking voids warranty as well. Anyways, you can try to disable Turbo and then raise the Multi at 45 and it will be just fine. After that you can raise NB frequency to 2400-2600mhz. All you need to do is just put the CPU voltage on offset and this way you might get the lowest voltage at idle. There are also some temp reading issues on the AMD CPUs so try to monitor it with all other softwares and in BIOS as well.

    Re: AMD FX-9590 Overclocking

I have read that the AMD FX-9590's 6 out of 8 corse are already disabled to achieve any overclocking. Amd should become competitive in the high end again to raise in the market. If this processor is used for gaming then it is very capable but some of the game developers are utilising more than 3 cores for their games and therefore with a FX-9590, you will get only 4 or 5 cores in the background. If you choose a FX-8380 then it will be more cost effective gaming processor compared to the 9590.
