    AMD Radeon R7 260X Overclocking

I am using a Amd FX-6300 processor and recently bought a new AMD Radeon R7 260X graphics card. I wanted to know if I will get good overclock for the video card as well as the CPU. I am also going to put 8gb RAM in my system along with a 450W power supply. I am going to buy a MSI motherboard for this setup and hope that it will not bottleneck the GPU. Thanks for answering me in advance.

I have heard that the MSI motherboard for AMD system are not really good because they have got low quality VRM and low quality component, so you wont be able to overclock much from it. You can try to go for Asus motherboard that can support Amd FX series processor. With a good board you can atleast expect to get 4.2 or 4.5ghz overclock. You should also place a good cooler inside the cabinet for cooling. What brand of PSU you are going to take, atleast consider from this list of Antec, Seasonic, Corsair, etc.

You can easily overclock your AMD Radeon R7 260X graphics card including different software's like MSI Afterburner, Overdrive, Asus GPU Tweak, Sapphire Trixx, etc. Can you tell us what is the settings and resolution that you are going to play games on your pc. The graphics card that you have choosen is solid and will let you enjoy the game even at high definitions for sure. Most of the upcoming games will be also supported with your graphics card.

I think that you wont be able to play the games at 1600 X 900 but more or less like in medium to high settings. Usually it will depend of what kind of games you will play and what frame rates you are seeking for. Well, I was using a HD 7000 series graphics card overclocked to 1040mhz and I was still not able to play games at 1600 x 900 at maximum settings. I used to get 60FPS in high settings most of the time or 50fps sometimes.
