    AMD FX-8320 processor overclocking

I recently bought a new AMD FX-8320 processor and I have installed it on my Gigabyte Ud3 motherboard properly. I was testing some overclocking on it but without getting much further I was wondering how much others were getting with this processor after overlocking. I have gotten upto 4.3ghz and dont want to push more as I dont feel comfortable going higher. So, can anyone tell me whether they have reached 5.0ghz stable on this processor? Thanks.

I am using Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus and I have overclocked this Amd FX-8320 processor to 4.2 at stable. I have not tested going further though and have only changed the base clock to 210 and multiplier at 20. I was trying to push both of this option without changing the Vcore but I still need to find out how to increase that only. Since I dont have much knowledge I have set the voltages to auto adjust on my Asus board.

How much watt is your Power Supply and what is its make and model? If it is anything above 550W minimum, then you can use different stress tests from various software available like the Intel Burn Test and check the stability of the overclocking that you are doing. Since every chip is different, so each will overclock at a different rate with different voltages.

Incase you are not finding anything stable over your 4.0ghz overclocking or if the temperature is rising quickly above 65C then you might need a better heat sink that would cool down your system a bit. I have seen people overclocking Amd FX 8320 processor over 4.2ghz at stock cooler with decent temperatures. So, it defintely an issue either with the stock cooler or the heatsink that is causing this problem.
