What is the idle temperature of AMD Phenom II X2 555

I just wanted to know what idle temperature others are getting with this AMD Phenom II X2 555 processor. I have recently installed it in a new computer and the it is showing high temps. The temp can get upto 45 degree celcius. I have also taken it off and applied some thermal paste but that didnt work either? Can anyone tell me why it is showing so much high idle temperature. I also believe that you have got a high idle temperature. With my AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition I a getting an idle temp of only 34 and for you 45 seems to be a bit high, cannot say for sure why that is happening but both have different chips for sure. Have you done any overclocking or are you getting the 45 degree temp at stock? Can you also check fo load temp in BIOS?

Can you try to take the heatsink off from the processor and then clean the CPU with some rubbing alcohol and then try to reseat the heatsink back again and see if that helps. You didnt specify how you are applying the thermal paste? What cabinet do you have, I am asking this because if the cabinet has poor air flow and inside hot air is getting trapped then you will get high idle temps also.

I have heard that the AMD Phenom II X2 555 maximum temperature is 70C, so the temps that you are getting are normal if the load temp is only hitting 52C. Also, does your cabinet have ventilation problem, if yes then you are tend to get hot temperature from the CPU. Can you try to use program called CoreTemp which will only read the tmeps of the CPU core and nothing else.
