    Overclocking Intel i5 2500k with Gigabyte Z68XP UD3

I just got my computer built yesterday and I'm trying to find the sweet spot, but man I'm a newbie. He completed a lot of reading and tried to go after a number of guidelines based on the i5 Core 2500K and motherboards intended for overclocking GIGABYTE and establish a setting that worked for 4.5 GHz screens, but after 30 minutes or so of blue first 95. I suppose I could establish small and once my way.

So basically I'm looking for help / tips / tricks / cookies if someone has this forum and has overclocked with the same chip or has any suggestions at all.

    Specification:
    • Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3
    • Intel Core i5 2500K
    • CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB
    • Sapphire Radon HD 6950

Even went with 46x multi instead of 45 without any modifications and is completely stable. You may need to press Ctrl-F1 in the BIOS to show all settings, Gigabyte's silly like that

    Try this for 4500MHz
    • Vcore = NORMAL
    • QPI/VTT = 1.150
    • PLL = 1.815
    • DRAM Voltage = MFG Spec
    • Timing = MFG Rated Spec
    • DVID = +.050

LLC is automatically disabled as there is no need in this way. Leave it as is for other settings. However, you may want to set ENABLED 4 other features: C1E, C3/C6, EIST and Intel CPU thermal monitor in the Features part, but you mind about economy energy.

    Re: Overclocking Intel i5 2500k with Gigabyte Z68XP UD3

I have exactly the same mobo + cpu, and am using the H60 CPU cooler water. I've only been able to get stable OC to 1365 + Vcore LLC 5 at 45x.

I prefer to keep the voltage as low as possible and hopefully keep it running for 3-5 years (after 2 or less, the possibility of returning to the stock speed).

One thing I am puzzled - Gigabyte BIOS - in the configuration page of memory - says my RAM is coverage that requirements 1.5v + 1.2v VTT for setting XMS (1600)
