Cannot overclock Intel i7 950 to 4.5 Ghz

Once I tried to get my Intel i7 950 to overclock at 4.5 Ghz but I failed to reach it. The try keep on hitting a wall at 4.3 GHz. Currently I am using GA-X58A-UD5 motherboard and 6 GB of Corsair XMS DDR3 RAM rated at 1600 MHz. I don’t know why it is hitting the stability wall at certain point. I have tried several things so far:
    • Got my BCLK up to 215 via a multiplier of 12.
    • Overclocked my RAM up to 1800 and tested with memtest for stability.

No matter what modification I cannot able to pass the 4.3 border. Can anyone provide me the solution to break this wall and reach the target that I aimed for? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Double check the BIOS settings once again. Try to run all voltages to Auto. Now overclock to 4.14 (180*23). If it fails then increase the Vcore value to 1.4 and run at 4.32 (180*24). I think like this way by the use of modest increase you can slightly reach 4.5 I think. There are other voltages also, such as VTT. Try its corresponding settings to break 4.3GHz wall.

I advise you get the most important voltages stated in the guide OFF AUTO and commence playing the overclocking procedure. I urge you to begin 1.5v for CPU and 1.4 for VTT. But as far as I know VTT is unpredictable, so there might be possible that it could use more or less voltage for reaching 4.5GHz. Also check the NB and SB power or voltage values.

If you can’t get our i7 to 4.5GHZ then do not try to push it forward assuming that it could break the boundary. Some might not be capable of doing this. If you forcefully try to overclock it then you may get irregular failures in your computer. It is also possible that due to high stress in CPU couldn’t able to get that target. Anyhow if you can reach 4.3 then it is almost enough for this situation until you get the better idea to make things better.
