Look in your motherboard documentation and find the jumper that resets your bios. reset the jumper and as long as you did not fry the motherboard or other components you should be fine.

cant find a way to do it...

heres the cmos jumper instruction that i found on the manual:
    1-2 - normal (default)
2-3 - Configure (after POST runs, the BIOS displays the maintenance menu. use this menu to clear passwords)
(none) - BIOS recovers data in the event of a failed update

i tried all 3 options plus combinations but still didnt work.

tried removing mobo battery for hours (with all cables plugged out) and still didnt work.

Try to take out all but 1 memory module. try them individually to see if 1 is bad. if not then if you have access to another power supply try changing that. Does the system just power right off or do the fans and lights stay on? Did you make sure the 4 pin power and 24 pin atx connector are fully seated? Also disconnect your hard drives and see if it will post screen.

    1, 2, 3 or 4 memory - no POST.
no memory - No memory error beep
    note: i have 4x2GB DDR3

when powering on it lights everything plus fans.
when powering off shuts all down

tried powering ON only with 1 memory and monitor plugged but still no POST

After many different possible solutions tried, the prob was solved. i had to remove the mobo from the case, install a different cpu. then it was all (my old i5) back into the case (i had to remake all cabling ) and PROBLEM SOLVED! not sure what was the problem though...

anyway thanks a lot to all yall

Since my first (bad) experience is over, I'm into overclocking again!

can anyone guide me this time? my goal is to achieve a stable 4.0GHz, with minimal possible voltage modifications.

    My system:

CPU: Intel Core i5 (@ stock speeds)
    CPU Cooler: Cooler Master V8
    RAM: 8 GB DDR3 1333
    GPU: nVidia GTX295
    HD: Intel X-25 G2 80GB SDD
    PSU: Cooler Master UCP 900W

I would suggest you to have a look to this thread Gigabyte E8400: How to get a stable 4ghz overclock. You may then be able to get a better idea of how to perform the thing without having any issue. This thread basically explains you the process and steps to perform the required thing which you need. Look out.
