It frequency of the processor bus, it can vary depending on the processor family (for core i3 , i5 , i7 the fsb is 133 , for the old generation core2duo example , the fsb is 266 ), 266 corresponds to the frequency of our DDR memory , we will find a part of the answer thanks CPU_z memory section. DRAM Frequency = 534 with a ratio FSB / DRAM 4 / 16 = > (534 * 4 ) / 16 = 133 then we must multiply 133 * 2 for the value read by ie 266 setfsb this example is valid for core i3 / i5/i7. For the Core2Duo processor bus is 266 , the value read by setfsb DDR must be equal to 266 or 532 * 2. We will see later that the frequency or DDR DRAM is intimately linked to processor bus. You corresponds to the frequency of the PCI bus , as PCI -E bus frequency that is locked by your motherboard , it should always be and remain at 33.

Select FSB / DDR / PCI - E / PCI Frequency reads : 156/312/100/33 156 is the fsb that I have to choose 312 corresponds to the frequency of memory, we see that it is mounted at the same time as the fsb , why, just because all that is calculated based on the fsb, For a frequency of 156 fsb memory is equal to (156 * 16 ) / 4 = 624 (On my PC I have the frequency of 667Mhz PC10700 , then we see that the memory is actually a fsb of undeclocké 133 until 166, in my case the memory will not be a parameter limiting the overclock , if the PC was equipped with a 533Mhz frequency PC8500 fsb of 156 that it will be overclocked already and could lead to loss of stability during ' overclock ).

I do not know if this is related but the days when I used this app on my Sony Vaio, I could push the limits even further " cold " always having a stable system. Example : J'O / C after 1 hour of my Proco surfing the net , msn and all * * charming meeting place , I could not go beyond 1.8Ghz (The program would not ) But when I did the O / C diced the lighting of the PC, I could switch to 2.1GHz ( Knowing that it was based 1.66 GHz ).

Memtest86 can diagnose the PC memory by applying a series of tests low. Indeed, the memory tests conducted by the BIOS Start the computer are a quick scan . There may be a bar to be recognized by the BIOS and does not allow for example the installation of the operating system because it is defective.

Be sure by the fact that the two beep serie of your motherboard is very revealing. Otherwise you just try to download a demo version of " Sisoft sandra " and make a benchmark ( test) of memory bandwidth. This will stress your RAM and components if they are a law will ineffectual t a beautiful blue screen or freezes the PC, and c is not chant AC can really put his finger on the problem .
