Intel DX58SO and BIOS Overclock

After I crashed my old PC , and because I had too much time to devote to an assembly rule for a PC I bought in August a Acer has a processor 920 for i7 Intel DX58SO , nothing wrong , I am more than satisfied ! Just out of curiosity I launched several tasks simultaneously to see the CPU load. In short , the picture would have been perfect if the motherboard had a minimum of overclocking options. Actually I expected , but given certain scores on i7 benchmarks , I have more envies to overclock , but how ? I understand that there may be alternatives to go off the bios of flinging . If you can help me I shall be very very grateful. Thanks.

In terms of frequency , the Core i7 Extreme 965 works internally at 3200 MHz as 24 x 133 MHz . CPU Mark is an old single thread bench but we still use it because it is sensitive to many parameters. First interesting point to note, the index of the Core i7 Extreme 965 is 7.4% higher than the Core 2 Extreme QX9770 at equal frequency . This index shows immediately that the improvements introduced by Intel engineers are paying. With its Turbo mode , the Core i7 can pass safely at 3600 MHz during this test . Index climbs then 494-555 for a gain of 12.34 % . For curiosity , we increased the multiplier in the BIOS Turbo 27-29 , which led to a crash . With a value of 28 , the results ranged from 500-595 ! Presumably, this variation is linked to steering thermal processor . We must not lose sight that a multiplier of 28 still leads the core asset at a frequency of 3733 MHz.
