Can AMD Phenom II x2 555 BE hit 4.0 GHz.

I wan to buy a AMD Phenom II x2 555 BE processor. I have a MSI board with 4GB RAM support and a 1GB Ati GPU. I want to weather can this processor is capable of hitting a 4Ghz frequency. I really plan to do that but by not destroying the processor. The 2 cores of the same is disabled so does there is a way to unlock the other 2 cores of the processor. If yes then how to do that. Thanks in advance.

All Phenom quad cores are original. The X3 brand has 3 active cores and then The X2 has two. It is obvious that AMD when it detects one or two core during validation testing their phenom would be silly to throw it away, thus marketed under the name X3 or X2 . Now it is true that some motherboard manufacturer have introduced functions in their bios to reactivate the 4 cores of X3 (for X2, I'm not sure). Asrock especially as MSI. But only on maps AM3. Unlocking the cores can void your processor warranty.

In my old config I had a Pentium E 5200 but has dropped the motherboard (socket 775) and as I had never climbed Athlon and it seemed like a good value for money I decided to change to test. For me it works great, faster than the old, much less heat that is around 10 ° and less about work, I read about actually just for info to reactivate by the other 2 hearts. Please go into the bios and enabled the proc hybrid mode and the clock calibration in auto mode and enjoy the quad core.

I had noticed that the ability to overclock the Phenom X4 II 965s is quiet pleasing. It is mounted much higher than the old Phenom X4 II 965. Well AMD is back with the Phenom X2 II 555 (revised C3) also arrives at 4Ghz so totally stable, and without touching the voltage. The voltage applied to the CPU is slightly higher not good with 1.3750 volts default 1.296Volt which is not good for the Phenom X2 II 550.

I had tried to overclock the same in my system. I had burned the same where the energy consumption goes to 215 watts. The frequency increased was to 1.3750 and now the game goes below 201 watts with the frequency support of 1.296 volt. The things changes out when I screw up the voltage more but the temp simply goes higher which is thing to worry out. The rate you mentioned in much higher.

Initially the Phenom X2 II 555 is clocked at 3.2GHz and it is a single dual core. As you know, some motherboards can unlock one or more core, as the Phenom X2 or X3 II. even offers Asus motherboards that do this automatically via the BIOS . The new revision of the C3 processor Phenom X2 II 555 allows it to reach the frequency of 6637MHsous liquid nitrogen. In addition, the 4 cores of the Phenom X2 II 555 were activated.

To compete with the Athlon X2 II, Intel Pentium E6300 launched. Compared to the E5400, the frequency of 2.7 to 2.8 GHz, and FSB from 800 to 1066 (200-266 MHz actual). The L2 cache is 2 MB, as on all 45nm Pentium, and these processors do not have the SSE4. For cons, the Intel VT virtualization, E5xxx absent, is present on the E6300. This processor was very at ease in overclocking, reaching the 3.6 GHz to its default voltage (1.2875V), but also 3.8 GHz and 4 GHz 1.35V to 1.45.
