Overclocking Phenom 9950 BE on XFX nForce 750a

I wish my overclocked to 3Ghz Phenom 9950 Black Edition, I read the overclocking guides but I want a little help. I had overclocked the same to 3Ghz and above that there were some system issue. I had managed to set up a 3Ghz but windows crashes at startup so I mounted a little vcore but without result. The board which I am using is XFX nForce 750a. Need some help here.

If you really want help for the same here are some basic help. First desync the ram if FSB is too high. You can then increases voltage which can be Vcore and ram. Increases the multiplier instead of increasing the FSB as Black Edition. Normally there is nothing complicated. Increase the voltage, to maximum vcore 1.3v ram. I had tested the same and it works well.

You must try out some proper tool for the same. It is necessary that yoru RAM voltage must be proper. To find the limit of the FSB you can try to first raise the voltage a little and then more higher. And then you calculate the multiplier coef and you try to not exceed the FSB limit but increase the coef, keeping the voltage in a bit control. There it works. I am using MSI Afterburner, Prime 95 and OCCT tool for the same.

I have a Phenom 9950 BE for one month now and I had several occasions to spend a long time trying to overclock but I seriously ceiling to 3.10 GHz with FSB 200 and multiplier X15.5 and Vcore is 1.4125, I I almost find stability has 3.20GHz with FSB 200 and X16 multiplier and Vcore 1.4500 but after 30-40 min of OCCT crash. I try everything kind of Vcore, I hit the FSB without adjusting surpassed 205 but nothing works and I looked up X17.5 but very unstable. I do not know what to do. I have a 500W PSU and 4GB Ram G-Skill PC6400 2x HD4850 Crossfire.

In my case the 20% overclocking is not negligible. I even think that I should not have done far from a limit on these processors. So here you must first get yourself sure about the overclocking stability. Regarding the potential of overclocking of Phenom they are not so stable. I had found them very unstable as compare to the Intel processors. With a Phenom 9950 overclocked on 20% in two 4850 crossfire arrive by calculating a total consumption of about 500 watts.

Yes full first try to overclock in bios which is better now because overdrive with overdrive overclock in windows while in the bios still overclocked. It is on that if your 790 chipset then you should be able to amend pac46 said, it's just that your BIOS is on AUTO. I am quiet sure that you can reach 3400 mhz and 3500 mhz pt 1000MHz almost over that by it. I had clocked the same and it worked well.

This time my cpu is set to 3300mhz heated to 54 degrees and I just finished playing crysis has the motherboard heats to 34 degrees and my CPU fan running at 2700 rpm. Even at 2700 rpm it is very quiet. Smartdoctor Asus tool tells me that my video card is heated to 50 degrees and the fan runs at 50% capacity of overclocking. The only hick is that draws from the AC current. At full capacity my power supply that I had last week was a 750W Ultra AC and planted in games. I was forced to buy a 1000W which is the Cooler Master Real pro
