There is no any issue with your installed RAM memory but the reason of such type of issue is that you are lacking with some bad configuration and In this situation, you require to change your divider in BIOS and after making the chnages, just save that settings properly. According to this output, you are currently working with 3:4 divider.Just make it to 2:1 or 800 and run up the fsb.Absolutely, you got the fix and just try to do and post me if you are getting any issues in between...

Re: CPU-Z only reading pc6400 for me

I got this whole discussion and find out everything is going very well 400/533=6/8, 6/8=3:4. Your RAM is running at 1066Mhz (DDR2). You need not desired to run at 2:1 and you are unable to do at that. 2:1 is just stupid. You are good what is your problem? You are running at PC8500, PC8500 is just OC'd PC6400 so it reports incorrect sometimes.

One thing more, CPUZ reads it as pc6400 but you will keep looking on your SPD tab its got a reading for 533mhz that with Double Data Rate indicates 1066mhz there's nothing going incorrect there and In case, if it was not 1066mhz memory there would be no reading for 533mhz.

CPU-Z only reading pc6400 for me

I am a new guy in this and done a sort of tweaking thing regarding this section. but it looks that the Mushkin PC8500 memory that I purchased has been giving users the same problem its concurring for me, which is that on CPU-Z its reading as PC6400. I purchased 996599 (2x2gb) and when I was working with my tech savvy friend today and he couldn't seem to get it to register as PC8500. Currently, my EPP rating is 533mhz and my timings are configured to 5-5-5-15 and the system is absolute stable -Actually, my query is that the memory is running at 1066mhz or is it obviously running at 800mhz?

For reference I am using a Gigabyte x38-DS4 board with a e8400 that is working very well. Any advice or anything?

If you are getting actually into the cpuZ SPD tab, this is OK and very fine because it's normal. When cpuZ memory tab displaying 400Mhz(800 actual) this indicates that RAM is still configured at 800Mhz, when configured to 1066Mhz it will display 533Mhz under the cpuZ memory tab

If it suggest as : 533 with 5-5-5-15 timings into the cpuZ memory tab, the app has been configured properly.
