Total screen corruption in Fedora 12

Hi, I decided to install fedora 12 (64-bit) on a spare partition to see if it is worth the upgrade.
I have an 8500 GT GPU and I am not even able to startx. The screen goes black for some seconds and then I see only LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) like colored spots. Then it crash, from what I can see, as there is a back trace on the attached report. This happens using the last released driver 190.53. Can anybody help me with this problem of total screen corruption in Fedora 12?

I will suggest you to do the following configuration in XORG.CONF:
    Section "Module"
    Disable "glx"
    EndSection

and try 195.xx driver. I hope this will help you. If you are having any further problem then let me know also mention the system configuration of your computer system.

Your workaround for a "least work" desktop is not working for me. In Xorg.0.log is shown a message saying (cannot remember exact words), glx has been disabled, but only a few lines below that will be loaded anyway. What I do not understand is that these error messages (apparently) meaningful to none other than "nvidia people", so I cannot take action by myself, but "nvidia

With 195.xx driver, also the last 195.36.03, the box freeze as soon as I run startx and I it does not even reply to ping. On reboot, Xorg.0.log is 0 byte and many logs are deleting because of the forced shutdown (soft reset). Therefore, nvidia-bug-report.sh does not report anything.
