External harddrive cooling mod

i have western digital 300gb external harddrive amd i use to power it up continuously due to my nature of work but now the problem for it temperature i dont find any dust or else as it looks clean so can some one help me to maintain temperature so i can use mod for it please tell me which one is better and available for me also tell me how can i utilize fan for it if possible. thank you.

Hard drives are designed to work under hot condition as the motor has oil element for fluent rotation and when temperature is high the oil is maintain its liquidy but due cold the oil can becomes thick which causes problem.

if you place your external harddrive inside cpu case than you have to maintain better air flow for it you can learn here also you can search in market for better aluminum mods but i think the orignal one is fine no need to change it.

overheating in other parts of hardisk can be harmful, check your power supply which can be cause for over heating also in proper operating system which contain viruses can be reason for hdd over heating as its improperly and continuously accessing hdd. if all is fine you can add extra fan on it.
