    Intel E8500 4.0ghz Volt, Vcore

    hi

I think that i am not perfect in sense of processor! I would like push it up to 4.0ghz .i have Intel E8500 3.16ghz, I can push up to 3.72ghz without raising anything besides FSB.

how much Vcore to have to reach the desired Ghz? or there is something else tweaks in the bios besides volts to the processor? i am on Retro Asus Striker Extreme 680I.

    thank you

I had an e6550 up to 1.9 volts so it can be done but that could be dangerous and some time you need to underclocked you memories to the specified frequencies .

E6550 is not 45nm so E8500 could not cope with as many Volts as 65nm.change pci-e freq from auto to 100 at 1:1 ratio is normally best.
