    What cooling for E8400

    Hello.

I intend to turn my C2D E8400 (4200Mhz with enough I think). For this purpose is looking for cooler. as I don't have a huge budget for better water cooling, but I was wondering would it be helpful to get a different waterblock? If someone uses good cooling , please give suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

Go for the xig cooler .its half the cost of the zalman 9700 and cools just as well if not better. You can probably look around and find the xig on sale for about $25-30 shipped after rebates, it works fine on my e8500..idle temp for the not-stuck core reads 30c, regular load temp about 45c and the fan is set at 1000rpm (barely notice it).

You can go with the COOLER MASTER V8 RR-UV8-XBU1-GP 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler - Retail $69.99. This thing is actually slightly better than my water cooling rig, and I also compared it to my ZEROTherm Nirvana 120 and it was a few degrees better than that too! I clocked my E8400 all the way up to 4 GHZ easily with this thing.
