    Overclocking Xeon X3350

    Hello,

I want to overclock my Xeon X3350 but I do not know these new models well. For the moment, I overclock stable to 3,2 Ghz but when I launch OCCT, it indicates 2,4 to me Ghz (instead of the 2,66 Ghz of origin) and sometimes that passes well to 3,2 Ghz. Does the processor put all alone of fallback speed when nothing does not turn?

In fact, since I overclock with a fsb of 400 and one ratio of 8, the processor passes of fallback speed to 400*6 = 2400 MHz and when a task is launched it would be said that it passes by again with 8*400 = 3200 MHz. Is this normal?

A rapid seeks and you would have to find that the fall of the coefficient is normal, it is necessary to decontaminate the parameters of energy saving in the bios.

Thank you very much. There, I am with 418*8 = 3,33 Ghz. For the moment, I think that it is more than to play enough under good conditions. What do you think about it?

3.3ghz is looking more and more like max for this particular chip. I had some strange problems, getting them all sorted, then I'll run benches. This Overclock was a little more tricky than the dual core. I knew anything over 3.6 would be difficult with the 8x multi, but 450 isn't all that high of an FSB.
