Problem overclocking Gigabyte X48

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6
2 GB G skill or 2 GB Crucial (PC8500) ram
GeForce8800 gtx
2 hdd
all that watercooler and a 550 W antec power supply

As soon as I touch parameter fsb or memory, the pc restarts after changing settings or restart the computer I have a long beep and 2 short more. I already have a parameter 3.87G 8X475, MEMORY 940 MHz, 1.4V vCore and 2.1V DDR. I have read in the record as it comes from or screen graphics card. I have blocked port pci 100 MHz and has set the first display port pci 1.

So, you get the level of your RAM and up the strap, before getting the FSB and frequency.

Have you disabled the necessary options in the BIOS?

I think so .. for options if yes for speed ram and pci.

You're Bios: F6, F7, F8c (Beta )---> see in CPU-Z.

F7 bios revision to E0.

You can also make a Clear CMOS, you never know and re-disable the options.

And put your PCI E to 101Mhz.

I have a bios f8c, I repeats a cmos and put a 101 pci.

the F8c BIOS is a Beta, very discouraged.
I have no choice, otherwise my CPU is not recognized.

But you, the BIOS that is the F7 to your CPU.

You must save the F7 absolutely, unless you buy a Q9650.

With the BIOS, there is a list of compatible CPU to watch.
