Overclock AMD 64x2 6400+BE

I recently bought my new AMD processor. It is AMD 6400+ BE processor and i am able to get a decent overclock. I tried changes with the clock, multiplier settings and was able to get decent results. but the problem is I am unable to go beyond 2000 and it's unachievable?

Depends on your MoBo. The HT Link3 Can run at very decent speeds indeed. I have mine clocked at the same speed as yours too. Slightly different settings and a lower HTlink speed with x16 Multi.

I have a 5400 and though I was stable at 3.4 but it makes it through all other tests of pcmark05 but fails the audio. Might increase south bridge to see if it clears up but I doubt it? Hitting 26 sec at 3.4 on super pi though. Not bad for an AMD. Was hitting 28 with the 4000+ though.

Get a x4 9850BE the X2 6400+'s are outdated and the X4 9850BE will rip through a X2 6400+ all day long.
Some BS benching programs that are not even programed to fully support the AMD quadcore cpus may show the 6400+ is faster but this is just not true at all.
Best way to prove this is run both cpu's side by side in everyday programs and you will see what I mean.
I have seen them both in person tested ripping a DVD and then converting to Divx,Xvid,WMV,and MKV and the X4 9850 was almost 3 times faster then the X2 6400+ both at stock and overclocked to 3.0Ghz...
The only down fall is you have to buy a 790FX mobo as these are the only mobo's that support the 125W power plain.

I'm using a ATI Radeon 3870 OC Edition and I wanna buy another to put them in CrossFire and I can't do that on a Intel mobo.
I don't have the money to buy a mobo, CPU and 2 more videocards to put in SLI.
I just have enough to buy the mobo, CPU and 1 ATI Radeon 3870 OC Edition.

Guess stick with the 6400+ BE then and upgrade it when Quad Cores get more "compatible and supported

Well I currently have a AMD 64 X2 4200+ but this one can't be overclocked at all. With every little thing I change it fails, but it could be my mobo is at the end of it's life . I hear very good things about Intel CPU's but AMD CPU's too.
I just think it's a bit disappointing AMD has such low stock clock speeds. And I think with the things I do an Intel CPU would be much faster then a AMD CPU. I've been loyal to AMD for a long time and I think it's time to try out Intel now that I know that it supports CrossFire because I realy like this VGA card I'm using and don't wanna get rid of it. About the memory, I think I'll just stick with DDR2 memory at 800 MHz because I recently replaced it and don't wanna spend that much on new memory this soon.
