Q9650 Core wrong speed in CPU-Z

Hello,

Bios recognized everything and also 4 cores enabled (Asus Striker Extreme 2) Windows Vista System Properties it shows me the right from 3000 MHz.

Only CPU-Z shows me CPU Clocks (Core # 0) 2000.0 MHz. Does anyone know what causes this issue and how to fix it? Is this a bug with CPU-Z or maybe I did something wrong?

In your bios, you will have a feature that brings the speed down when you're not doing heavy loads on your cpu. It changes your multiplier to 6 instead of 9, or whatever its set on. I think its called intel speed step. Just disable that in your bios.

There was a lot of chatter about Intel's Bios needing updating for the Q9650. I presume this is a new rig, CPU and MOBO? Are you familiar with the process of updating your Motherboard Bios?

Each of Q9650 chips can no doubt clock higher, but I would feel better doing so with a good water cooling system. The Q9650 reached as high as 59 C under load when clocked to 4 GHz, which is about as hot as I felt comfortable with.
