Monitor CPU temperature in Windows Vista

I would like to know how can I check the CPU temperature in Windows Vista. There's no CPU temperature indicator in Task manager -> Performance. Also I can't seem to find a Vista compatible CPU temperature monitoring software. Please help!

There are a number of programs you can use, with Motherboard Monitor making its rounds on the recommendation lists, but I just use Everest since it's already installed. It's primary function is identifying all of the components of your computer and checking their status, but under sensors it can also report CPU, HD, and case temps as well as fan speeds.

Hardware sensors monitor utilizes sensor chips on smart motherboards to track system and CPU temperatures, voltages and cooling fans. By quickly catching an overheated computer, you can prevent disasters such as system instability or damage. The program is resource friendly, resides quietly in the system tray, and continually monitors the various parameters. By clicking its icon, you'll view real time values for each component. Hmonitor supports all Windows OS: Windows 9X, ME, NT, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, including X64 editions.

Rivatuner and Core Temps should give you all the hardware monitoring utilities you need. They are both free.
