    Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Paste:

Arctic Cooling is not the oldest company around, but they have come a long way in making a name for themselves in the cooling product line. Many enthusiasts live by the Arctic Cooling brand name and this reputation is well deserved. They have a line of cooling solutions for nearly every niche area and their prices tend to be more than reasonable.

Of course, when it comes to cooling there is more than just the cooler. Besides the normal considerations of airflow and such, the Thermal Interface Material (TIM) plays a huge role in the overall effectiveness of the cooling solution. This holds especially true for those diehard overclockers where even small variations in temperature can make a difference in terms of processor speed.

Enter the above mentioned Arctic Cooling with a new TIM they have dubbed MX-2. While there are not that many players in this market area, the names that are out there have a huge reputation. So relax for a few as we take a look at this newcomer in the TIM market and see if it has what it takes to be a worthy consideration for your next project.

Searching the forums can help you to find your answers more quickly

Arctic Silver 5 With its unique high-density filling of micronized silver and enhanced thermally conductive ceramic particles, Arctic Silver 5 provides a new level of performance and stability. Now available at Arctic Silver dealers worldwide, Arctic Silver 5 is definitely The New Reference.

Arctic Silver 5 is optimized for use between modern high-power CPUs and high performance heatsinks or water-cooling solutions.

    Features:

    Contains 99.9% pure silver:

Arctic Silver 5 uses three unique shapes and sizes of pure silver particles to maximize particle-to-particle contact area and thermal transfer.

    High-Density:

Arctic Silver 5 contains over 88% thermally Conductive filler by weight. In addition to micronized silver, Arctic Silver 5 also contains sub-micron zinc oxide, aluminum oxide and boron nitride particles. These thermally-enhanced ceramic particles improve the compound's performance and long-term stability.

    Controlled Triple-Phase Viscosity:

Arctic Silver 5 does not contain any silicone. The suspension fluid is a proprietary mixture of advanced polysynthetic oils that work together to provide three distinctive functional phases. As it comes from the tube, Arctic Silver 5's consistency is engineered for easy application. During the CPU's initial use, the compound thins out to enhance the filling of the microscopic valleys and ensure the best physical contact between the heatsink and the CPU core. Then the compound thickens slightly over the next 50 to 200 hours of use to its final consistency designed for long-term stability.

    Not Electrically Conductive:

Arctic Silver 5 was formulated to conduct heat, not electricity.

    Absolute Stability:

Arctic Silver 5 will not separate, run, migrate, or bleed.

    Compliancy:

    RoHS Compliant.

Akasa AK-450-5G silver based thermal compound

Akasa Thermal Compound 450 is a silver-based thermal compound (also known as thermal grease or heat paste) with a high thermal conductivity due to the silver content.

Thermal compound is used by PC enthusiasts to create an efficient seal between the processor and the CPU cooler, therefore ensuring good cooling capacity. A cool CPU can run faster, last longer, and even be overclocked to a higher speed, than one that is at risk of overheating.

Akasa Thermal Compound 450 is formulated to provide high-performance heat transfer. It's great value too.

    Features:

    • AKASA AK-450-5G Thermal Compound
    • Silver Based Thermal Compound
    • For High Performance Heat Transfer
    • Operating Temperature: 0 to 200 degrees
    • High Thermal Conductivity (9.2428 W/mC)
    • Low Bleed and Temperature Stability
    • Simple to Apply with Spreader Card
    • Specially Designed for CPU's
    • Suitable for all CPU's
