    ATI x1950 XT Overclocking

    Hi,
I have a old X1950 XT AGP card. soon I'll replace it. Now i want to play little bit with it by overclocking it (i mean some experiments ) . Have anyone overclocked this card before. And what kind of performance it gives . And what is the maximum limit for it.
    Thanks for any advice.

From what I have heard, the ATI 1900 series of cards just run hot. I don't see how messing with C1E support would affect Crysis performance. What I have seen that is weird is that changing your visual settings in Crysis mid game will drop your FPS by a good amount. But, when I restart the game with the graphics setting pre set, the game runs fine. Weird.

Also, if you are in the woods as opposed to on the beach, the fps will differ dramatically, at least in my experience (less in the woods and more fps in open spaces or places with less foliage). Maybe you just moved to a more graphically intense part of the game.

I'm not sure what the max speeds you can overclock your card too. ATI tool is a good program to use to find the max Overclock your card can do. Even with 2 "identical" cards you could wind up with different max overclocks.

I'm relatively new to overclocking. ATI tool usually crashes after a few minutes but all my games run fine. Temps range from 47 idle to 75 load. Is it ok if ATI tool crashes (no artifacts just crashes and i get the GPU stopped responding error) or should I lower my clocks a little?

I have a X1950XT and it handles an OC pretty well , 75 degrees is way too high. You need a serious cooling solution to get to down to about 60-65 . you need a water cooler . Mine usually runs around 46-48ÂșC idle. if I OC it then it hits the mid 50s easy and I have seen mid 60s under load at stock speeds.
