    Athlon XP 1800 Overclocking

I know absolutely nothing in it except that overclocking is just to boost its pc. I have an Athlon XP 1800 +, and I would like to boost a little but I have no idea how, so if you can help me a bit that would be really cool.

to overclock a CPU, you need to know to use the BIOS.

Basically, I can just tell it to change frequencies.

    but before taking a risk
it is always better to know

    - CPU temperature before overclock
    - And the level of ventilation also ...

so that there wont be risk of turning into an oven ...

The o / c is not something we do on a enjoyment without knowing at least the basics so as not to endanger the life of his CPU.
The frequency of a CPU is defined by its coef multiplier and its front side bus (FSB) for example, a 2500 + running at 1826Mhz with a fsb of 166 for a 11-coef. 11 * 166 = 1826.
The o / c of a CPU, therefore, by altering one of these two parameters or both.
This change is done via the bios, the bios itself is not complicated to use for o / c CPU to the extent it is more or less explained and it still works the same way that we change the parameters and then F10 to save and reboot after you leave windows.
However, even if the o / c appears as an easy thing it should not be done with any material!
A o / c raising the CPU frequency, it releases more heat and therefore needs an adequate cooling system for that in any case the 60 ° is reached.
Obviously not 60 ° T ° beyond which the CPU Crame but was high enough that the O / C can not be maintained.
Moreover, the CPU o / c yields more heat but also consumes more power W therefore also plays a role important. The effect of o / c of processor while you have a no name power supply is not really and recommended a minimum of 350W is required to be on not to have problems because the voltage supplied by the food may undergo large variations with no name power supply while the power of brand is a guarantee of stability.

You're board isn't great for overclocking, & neither is your RAM. If you have the ability to raise the FSB in increments, just try raising the FSB 5 MHz at a time & test for stability after each change.
