power supply with Gainward 4870 X2?

Hello, here recently I have changed pc while keeping my old graphics card. Here is the config:

    • Lancool K1
    • Asus P5Q-E
    • Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
    • WD Raptor 74go
    • Go 2x2 Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 PC6400 4-4-4-12
    • Msi 7900 GTO 512mb
    • Alim Corsair 520HX

So here it is, does my current 520W power supply may be sufficient to fuel a Gainward HD 4870 X2 2GB or should i replace my old Graphics card?

If not, what should I invest in ?

    Thank you in advance.

Your PSU should be plenty.to use with Gainward HD 4870 X2 is the equipped with two powerful RV770 GPUs which is designed to take advantage of the power that GDDR5 memory delivers. GDDR5 has twice the available memory bandwidth compared to GDDR3 and GDDR4; thanks to its quad data rate. The Gainward HD 4870 X2 comes with 2048MB of GDDR5 memory at an effective memory speed of 3,600MHz (900MHz quad data rate) connected to two RV770 graphics processors with each 256bits bus per GPU. The two graphics processors, which are clocked at a massive 750MHz, are combined to 800 stream processors for a big performance boost. It supports the latest ATI CrossFire X technology to smoothly fulfill HD gaming experience at highest details settings even with the most demanding games. The card supports a PCI Express 2.0 interface to ensure maximum bandwidth availability.

i would think it would be 500W as an absolute minimum but 650 Watt or greater power supply with one 2x3-pin PCIeR power connector and one 2x4-pin PCIeR power connector is required (1K Watt with two 2x3-pin and two 2x4-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode) is requirement for this card

check this thread PSU for HD 4870

The 4870 X2 is an incredible power hog. Yes, it does perform well. Yes it costs a bit less than two 4870 cards. But will we be able to afford the energy bill?

In both idle and load power the 4870 X2 is near the bottom of our chart. The only thing more inane than the 4870 X2 is plugging two of them into one system. Keep in mind that this power measurement is taken running a 3dmark pixel shader test using almost no other resources. In actual game play power draw is much higher as the CPU, memory, and hard drive can come under load at the same time.

Welcome to the kilowatt era. We've been telling you these huge power supplies weren't that necessary until this generation, and we absolutely mean it. If you are thinking about a multi GPU solution involving the latest hardware you are going to want something upwards of 1KW. If you want GTX 280 SLI or 4870 X2 CrossFire you'll want to head on up to the 1200W deparment.
