X5400 underclocks only

This processor overclocks successfully. I have my PC now approximately half years and wanted 5400X2 to overclock but whenever I try to overclock this processor via cell menu in the BIOS, the MHz no. would show good but when I save and re-boot and I am in windows for example, it gives instead of 1.9 GHz to 2.85 (the stock processor runs at 2.8). I would not know what is going on because the processor would still be able to just clock.

Can someone help me?

What windows indicates is not always correct. You have to look in the bios or everest for example.

Is it in the BIOS too. There is also a processor driver that clocks it down.
If you get it stressed by Prime than the speed may shoot up.

Hmmm I had another driver installed, which is called: windows driver package advanced micro devices. Perhaps this is creating the problem.
