hello friends,
I change the fans behind my P182 (one at the top, the back and bottom with hard drives) but I hesitate between a Noctua NF-S12 and NF-P12. I have two S12 and one already in front of P182.
Thank you

The P12 is newer than the S12, they are slightly more noise, but blows a little harder but all noctua it remains fairly low, but if it is to silence and not the performance why not.
Hello, I have the same interests as you. After some research on sites specializing in silence, I will opt for Scythes of the series Slip Stream, which are apparently the new benchmark in silence. I'll take the model running at 800 RPM (they have a higher cfm tricool position in 1200 rpm or low). I think the best is to replace the 3 tricools, and keep the S12 that you have in front intractable (you can even remove the cage to DD if it does not serve you, you will improve the air Flus ).
Yes the scythes are amazing, cheap and very well designed. I have read good things about the slip stream, I hastily try, but I just set up my new configuration and it fills me out for any change fan .
Ultra Kaze which you speak is clearly not directed silent, but performance: it runs at 3000 rpm for a noise level of 49dBA indicated!
Pure comparison,
slipstream SY1225SL12L -> 800rpm / 10.7 dBA, with a flow of air slightly above the low position tricool!!
I finally purchased 2 Noctua NF P12. I installed above and behind my P182 in place of the 2 Tricool of origin. I also changed the Tricool disk drive with a Noctua NF S12. I also added a Noctua NF S12 in front of the graphics card (4870). Nickel everything works and everything is silent.
Thank you for your advice.
