    Blue screen while overclocking E6700

I am unable to overclock my cpu (Intel Core 2 Duo E6700) to 3mhz or more. I used to get the blue screen and have to reset my settings. What is the point that I am lacking? Please help me.

    My Specs:

    ASUS A8N-SLI motherboard
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6700
    120GB Hard disk
    1GB RAM
    ATI GeForce 7600 GS

You didn't mentioned about voltage. I think you missed it and need to increase it. Then push up the FSB in small increments until it becomes stable.
Also keep this in mind that the voltages can be down as low as possible but only until its stable because more the voltage, more would be heat and so less would be the stability.

Actually, the processor's can be overclocked only up to a certain point and going beyond that means you have to raise the voltages. But voltages should be increased slowly so that you don't mess up and make your processor die. There should be a balance between overclocking and voltage.

I increased the voltage and tried to get to 3.2 but still . I think I should provide some more cooling to it. By the way do I need to overclock my memory as well?

Overclocking CPU will also overclock your memory at the same time. So I don't think you need to overclock your memory separately. Only thing you have to do is set your memory to a lower frequency.
