    Overclock 8600 GTS

    Hi,

Recently I purchased a 8600 GTS coming to 675 and 1000 reports. Wanted to do and asked me to overclock the terms could stretch without compromising their integrity as they have read in various forums that allows a large overclicking. A 800 and reports to 1200 would be excessive?

    Thank you

Typically, these VGAs to around 750-780 MHz on the core (do not remember now the maximum speed of GRAM), but I assure you that 800 Mhz made only very good. For example, I have at home and respect card, a 8600GTS of the mark Gainward (Golden Sample) that is capable of 830 Mhz in the nucleus, but in this case it is a special binado ago Gainward of kernels (besides using a sink better than the serial Nvidia).

    Thank you so much,

The mine is assembler XFX, laXFX 8600 GTS active. You think this could make assembler overclock to 800 without suffering? In the memoirs As I recommend to overclock? Finally taking into account that in the 60 th to Idle this regard I have to watch that does not pass with temperature overclock?

    Thank you so much

    Hi,

The temperature that really interests you is not to idle, if not of the load because it will be that, to some extent, we will limit the overclock of the VGA. To find the temp in load kernel, I suggest that working with the program RTHDRIBL full-screen on your monitor for 30-40 minutes and monitoring the temps through RivaTuner.

XFX assembler is good but the fact of being sold cheaply as the 8600GTS and a VGA that has been running for nearly a couple of years on the market, probably indicates that the GRAM who will be using the VGA is cheap. Even so, we are looking at google sujeiro reviews of the 8600GTS to get an idea of the maximum speed that should reach its GRAM.

That can bring the core at 800 MHz, the truth is that I do not think so but you could always get a soprender and OC as good as that in your GTS. In any case, I would try to go slowly rising speed of the GPU and when you arrive in the 750 Mhz, pass a test of stability to the VGA, to see if it holds these frequencies.

    Greetings
